Rules
»
The Racing
Rules of Sailing 2001-2004, the Class Rules of the J80 International
Class Association, the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions,
will govern the J80 Long Island Championship.
»
This event
is a J80 "Open" event as defined by the ISAF J80 Class Rules.
3.
Entries
»
Submit completed
entry as follows: Make checks payable to "David Jannetti"
as Event Chairman and mail to: 51 Oak Grove Road, Southampton,
NY 11968.
»
The entry
fee of $175.00 includes launch and haul out, 3 days of racing,
awards reception and 4 T-shirts.
»
Entries must
be received Wednesday, May 28, 2003. Haul out will be
available on a first come, first serve basis.
»
Entries after
this date will be accepted at the discretion of the organizing
authority and will require a late registration fee of $50.00.
4.
Check-In/Weigh-In
»
Check-In/Weigh-In
will be 1500-1700 hours on Thursday, May 29th and
0800-0900 on Friday, May 30th at the Breakwater
Yacht Club. All crew substitutions must be checked in
and weighed-in in order for that boat to be scored.
»
S.I.'s, Course
Diagrams, and T-shirts will be distributed at Check-In.
5.
Race Schedule and Courses
»
Friday &
Saturday
•
1100 Hours:
Racing in Noyac Bay- Short courses, multiple races.
»
Sunday
•
1100 Hours:
Racing in Noyac Bay- 2 races scheduled. Last race to
be started no later than 2pm.
6.
Scoring
»
7 or more
races are scheduled of which 2 must be completed to constitute
a series.
»
The series
will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the RRS using
the Low Point System. 1 race shall be discarded if 5
races have been completed.
»
This series
will count toward the J80 Northeast Circuit.
7.
Prizes
»
Trophies for
the series will be awarded based on the number of entries.
»
Daily sponsored
awards may also be given. Details of these will be announced.
