Am sailing a J80 for first time in match racing competion in a few weeks. Can you guys give me some tips on where the crew should be positioned upwind and down and anything else you can think of that might help.

Thanks

Stuart-
On the upwind leg the crew should be as far forward as possible, you don't want the crew in forward of the shrouds but as close to them as possible, also it is best if the skipper is right in the middle of the traveler. On the downwind leg if there is a lot of wind you should have the weight as far back as possible to keep the bow from diving straight into the waves.
