Just wanted to share this:
Just spent $1000 to repair transom that had over the years become crushed by the outboard clamps.
Person who repaired it said there was a void that allowed the transom to compress over time.

you should have used foam and bondo, then resprayed the area. Shouldn't have cost more than 100 bucks and case of beer.

I just repaired mine as well, and rebuilt the cap trim. No more water intrusion and possibly less rattling.
