My tiller seems to have some rot in several layers of laminate and needs replacement. Does anyone know sources for a non-wood tiller ? If we go with wood is APS the only source? I see defender has a similar one but the measurements are slightly off. Anyone have expierience with this ?

Call Mike at Waterline. He should be able to help you. 401 682 1661. They may have glass tillers the same weight as the wood.
FWIW, I put a coat of gloss varnish on my tiller a couple of times a year. A light sanding is all the prep you need and the varnish will seal the tiller, preventing the rot.

Problem is the tiller extension exposes the inner laminated layers that aren't protect to water. It was from there the inside rotted out. Hence my concern that this will happen again.

Drop some varnish down the holes for the tiller extension too. Or just coat the screws in 5 min epoxy.

A little WEST system in each whole will seal the water out.
