Sitting here at home in the middle of the first blizzard of the year and wondering about a few things:

The turnbuckles for the split backstay seem to want to pass straight through the support tubes of the pushpit. I have them running inside the pushpit but the wire comes out of them at a slight angle. Am I doing something wrong?

While thinking about this I thought about replacing the split system with a spectra cascading backstay adjuster. I can't find anything in the class rules which prohibit this. (But up here I sail under PHRF so the rule question is just out of interest) Has anyone else implemented a similar rig? What should I consider if I do make the switch?
