i am trying to purchase a new j80. what is the logic in tpi halting production of a strong and growing class of affordable boats. how many 24s would there be if j boats did the same back then? besides that, i don't want to give france any business.

Hi Wayne, TPI is still building J/80s. 4-5 years ago we went with the Fall Package program in order to ensure a solid production run, which streamlines the cost for owners. This has really helped sustain and fuel J/80 growth. The downside is that TPI is not set up to build one or two boats at a time, so the production run can't be sustained on a year-round basis.

For this year the package is $47,500 for 2005 model J/80, class sails, tandem axle trailer and Tacktick. Best to contact local J dealer for more details or email kendra@jboats.com who can help direct folks.

Thanks,
Jeff Johnstone
