Harry,

I was told by TPI that all J80s are SCRIMP. I have hull 31 and several years ago I thought I had a gel coat blister problem and they informed me it was impossible. They were right it was a epoxy bottom paint blister. At that time they assured me my hull was SCRIMP and if there was a problem they would have warranteed it.

I own hull 36 Javelin, I installed 83 KILOS of weight in Javelin in order to weigh up to what the scrimp boats do. Looks like hand layup to me.

I believe All US built TPI built J/80s are SCRIMP. The French J/Composite boats are different.
