I read about a J80 that did a nasty broach and ended up with the entire genacker and main in the water. The boat stayed knocked down until they released the genacker halyard. During this time the water was only about 6 inches from the companionway. Does anybody know what will happen if the boat gets flooded with water? Will the floatation tanks be enough to keep the boat floating?

The J/80 flotation tanks will not float the boat,
The boat is not equipped with POSITIVE FLOTATION.
They are only ment to slow the sinking process.
