As a winter fill in I do a bit of JAM racing (no spinnakers.) I'm thinking about getting a pole to keep the jib out when goosewinging. At the moment we resort to a boat hook, which is a bit basic.
Anybody has any idea who long you want such a pole to be? We have a lot of J/24 here. Should my pole for the jib be shorter, longer or the same?

Thanks for any hints.

Bob:

I've done a bit of jib & main racing myself on my J/80 with a borrowed a J/24 pole. It fits perfectly!!

Thanks Atonio,

When you say the J/24 pole fits perfectly, is that for the 100 % class jib or only the 155 % Genova?
