I just bought my first sailboat, a J/80, hull # 1006. I need new sails. It will arrive in Bayview, Idaho, soon and since there are not enough J/80's, I will not be racing in a class. Any suggestions as to where to buy sails and what configuration would be appreciated.

If you're not going to race class, and it's light air, you might want to check out the 3DL genoas. We made one a couple weeks ago at the SD loft and it looked killer. I wish I had one for the light wind PHRF stuff, but I'm focused more on class racing.

I bought a new 135 genoa from Kerry Klinger and his group at UK sails in New York. It greatly increases the speed and functionality of the boat, especially in the light winds and PHRF races we have here in the Long Island Sound.
